Julie King

Founder and Owner

Artist, designer, instructor, business professional – Julie King’s extensive knowledge of state-of-the-art materials and faux techniques has earned her the respect of architects, designers, decorators, and other living-space professionals nationwide.

Julie’s talent as a color specialist enables her to enhance every wall she touches to the extreme delight of her clients, both commercial and residential.

“I started in this field because of my love of color,” Julie says. “When my children were young I lived in a white-wall house. One day, on a lark, I fauxed one of the rooms a blend of gray/blue colors. It instantly gave me a place where I could go after a hectic workday and be changed by it. That became the most relaxing room in the house.”

“Later I fauxed the master bedroom a beautiful blend of warm yellow colors. Entering that room, I felt upbeat and energized. When the children came in we had joyful conversations. I saw the difference in emotions going from one room to another. In the beginning I experienced the art on a homeowner’s level.”

It was just the beginning. Julie has studied with a variety of faux artists both here and abroad. She attends annual advanced training sessions, and passes her new learning on to her staff.

An artist herself, Julie builds her company by seeking out people who are naturally warm, vibrant, energetic. Then she teaches them how to create faux masterpieces.
She is careful not just about staff, but also about the subcontractors she employs for such essentials as preparation, base painting, carpentry, and sheet rocking. She manages a full network of professionals who are as careful of your space as she is.
