Allison Kay Nickerson recently graduated from Monserrat College of Art with a BFA in painting.  As a fine arts painter, she is thrilled to have found gainful employment with Samarra Faux Painting!  In addition to being able to utilize her artistic talent, she enjoys the process of transforming interior spaces, especially seeing the clients’ excitement at the change in their environment.

Her current work is focused on fashion and its impact on popular culture.  For her senior thesis, Allison designed twelve handbags, painted them individually and displayed them in a grid formation. The piece was accepted by the prestigious Copley Society of Art and currently hangs in the Onyx Hotel in Boston.  

Allison enjoys working with oils on canvas and mixed media.  She also likes the idea of incorporating fashion with a rustic edge and hopes to explore that interest further with materials like antique doors and hardware. When she’s not painting, she enjoys dancing the night away and spending time with friends.
