Samarra transforms your space

At Samarra Faux, we are selling the transformation of your space from utilitarian to breath taking. Whether it’s the right color, the texture, the aroma, or the personalities of the staff – the experience of having us in your space makes you feel transformed.

1. Interview ~ Entering the space for the first time with you, Julie conducts a short interview. How often are you in the space, what do you do there, how much time do you spend there, what are your preferred activities there?

Once we have the answers to those basic questions, we can help you decide what you need on the walls. For example, a real estate office with ten agents might have healthy yellows and reds for an upbeat, positive effect.  A psychotherapist’s office could tend toward sea grasses, greens – warm, comfortable colors.

Let’s say it’s your bedroom. Is it strictly for sleeping? A retreat from the noise of teenagers? Do you like a bright, upbeat color for getting ready in the morning?

The interview is vital to establish your intention for that space and how you can best use it.

2Notes and Measurements ~ We thoroughly measure a space and take full notes about its use. We also deliver on the spot an estimate on how much it will cost to transform the space. If you decide to go ahead with a deposit, we create your custom samples in the studio.
3. At the Studio ~ The studio is our “intuitive” workshop. We go there with an agenda and the colors we discussed with you. Then our innate creativity comes into play and we introduce one or two new ideas as well, based on the feelings we took from your space. For about seven hours, we create sample boards.
4. Search for Perfection at the Site ~ We bring back three to five choices for you to live with in the space for several days, to get a feeling for the direction you prefer. What does the color feel like in the morning? During those lengthening afternoon shadows? At night with dim lights? After you live with the range of samples, you’ll be able to choose the exact right one for you easily.

“We love putting people at ease,” Julie says, “about making major decisions with regard to their home and office environments. It’s such a rewarding feeling that people place their trust in my sense of beauty and my artistry in transforming their space.”
Step Five: Voila! ~ After you choose a color direction, we come in and make the magic happen. There are no surprises, except for joy, and occasionally – ecstasy.

We hand mix on site. Each job is a custom creation. You’ll never receive the same color as someone else. The color and the finish are unique to you and your space.

When we work we don’t play music. We establish a quiet environment, almost meditative. While we work, we ask you again about intention for the space, and add the just-right essential oils for you. For example, in your kitchen, with upbeat colors, the perfect essential oil might be ylang ylang (for joy), or lavender (for nurture and comfort).  This is a whole experience!

When we leave at the end of each day we take everything with us. There are no paint pails left behind, no ladders, no drop cloths. In fact, most people can’t tell we were there, except for the gradually transforming effect in the space.

Our staff is professional: quiet, courteous, polite. Whether we are prepping walls or doing gorgeous faux art, the experience in the space is tranquility and creativity.

We service areas such as North Shore, South Shore, Boston, Chesnut Hill, Merrimac, Amesbury, Plum Island, Chestnut Hill And Newburyport
