Paint
It Forward is Samarra's community outreach project, designed to improve
the living environment of people battling illnesses. They offer a color
consultation and painting, including supplies, for one room at no
charge.
Their first project involved
painting the bedroom of Avalanna Routh, a local five year-old.
Avalanna has been battling
AT/RT, which is a rare form of brain cancer. She picked her own colors, purple
and yellow, and requested cupcake and flower designs. Samarra learned
about Avalanna on YouTube.
Samarra is looking for
volunteers to paint or donate related services such as interior design,
cleaning, and carpentry. Please contact
Julie@SamarraFaux.com if you
know someone in need or can donate services and supplies.
Transforming Dynamics of Faux Art:
Advanced Techniques for Architects,
Designers, and Homeowners
Color has power to soothe or move us.
That so many architects and designers are turning to color experts to market or promote their properties is proof that consumers are becoming color conscious. Enter a red room and your heart rate surges. A red dining room whets the appetite for the tastes to come. Blue makes us feel blue. Rich buttery yellow makes us feel upbeat and confident. So what kind of energy do you want to prevail in your spaces? How do you want to
feel in these rooms?Architects, designers, and building professionals have come to understand that their clients wish to live in spaces that are warm and comfortable. Blank white walls are out, and vibrant color is in.
Faux painting uniquely softens a spaces angularity
and enriches ITS personality.
Faux paintings infinite color palette and sensuous textures can transform a space into the kind of art that brings people together.
Instead of ordinary painted walls,
enjoy an artists involving skills.
Ordinary paint on walls is like a photograph. No matter how many times you look at it, even at a masterful photograph, you see the same thing every time. Flat wall paint, like a photograph, might be beautiful, even emotionally satisfying. But it is unchanging.
Quality faux painting, as with the work of any skilled artist, changes with every viewing. It is transforming, the way all good art transforms how the viewer sees. You notice different qualities, feel different emotions, every time you examine it. As the light changes, so does the impact. As the details evolve through the day and night, so does the reaction of the viewer.
